Description
Validamycin sulfate is a antibiotic and fungicidal compound produced by Streptomyces hygroscopicus. Validamycin is freely soluble in water, methanol, DMSO, and ethanol.
Mechanism
Evidence shows validamycin to have inhibitory effects against trehalase, an enzyme which aids in carbohydrate storage and transport.
